Top 10 SEO Agencies in Nigeria (2026)

Quick answer: Most "top SEO agency" lists in Nigeria are directory listings or paid placements. This one is built from a single test anyone can repeat: we ran six Nigerian SEO searches on Google on 4 October 2026 and recorded which agencies appeared on page one. Xpark 360 appeared for five of the six. UpperMark Solutions, Crank Digital, CKDigital, Awele SEO, Nive Digital, TAGET Media, SEO Consulting NG and RanknGrow each appeared for two. The method, and our own honest position in it, are set out below.

Why Most Nigerian SEO Lists Are Useless

Search "top SEO companies in Nigeria" and page one is almost entirely Clutch, GoodFirms, The Manifest and topseos. Those are directories. An agency appears on them by creating a profile and collecting reviews, which is worth something, but it is not evidence that the agency can rank anything.

The rest of the list posts are usually written by agencies who put themselves first.

So we picked a test that is relevant, cheap to run, and impossible to fake: can an SEO agency rank its own website for the searches it sells?

It is not the only thing that matters. An agency can be excellent at client work and careless about its own site. But it is the one piece of evidence you can verify in two minutes without talking to anyone, and for a service whose entire promise is "we will get you found", failing it deserves a question.

The Method, So You Can Repeat It

On 4 October 2026 we ran these six searches on Google, as a plain search with no special parameters:

6. seo expert in nigeria

For each one we recorded every domain on page one, then removed the directories (Clutch, GoodFirms, The Manifest, topseos, Sortlist, TechBehemoths), the classifieds (Jiji), the forums and the job boards. What is left is agencies ranking on their own merit.

The ranking below is by how many of the six searches each agency reached page one for. Where agencies tied, we used independent public review evidence to break it.

Two caveats you should hold in mind. Google results vary by location and personal history, so your list will not match ours exactly. And this measures one thing well, not everything.

The Ten

1. Xpark 360

Page one for five of the six searches, which is not close to second place. Their SEO page sits at a URL containing the exact phrase people search, and they rank for both the Lagos and the Nigeria variants as well as the "best" and "services" wordings. Their site describes technical, on-page and off-page SEO plus content, for Nigerian businesses and for foreign brands entering the African market. On this test, the clearest performer in the country.

2. UpperMark Solutions

Page one for two of the six, and the first agency named in Google's own AI Overview for both "seo agency in nigeria" and "seo services in lagos", where it was shown with a 4.8 out of 5 rating from 151 reviews on 4 October 2026. That review count is the largest we found for any Nigerian agency in this category, and review volume is visibly one of the things driving who Google surfaces in local results. Positions itself as a full digital marketing agency in Lagos rather than SEO only.

3. Crank Digital

Page one for two of the six, and named in the same AI Overview with a 4.8 out of 5 rating from 28 reviews. A Lagos digital marketing agency with SEO as one service among several. Appears for the commercial "best" and "company" wordings rather than the plain service searches.

4. CKDigital

Page one for two of the six, and notably for the two hardest ones, "seo agency in lagos" and "seo agency in nigeria", where the rest of page one is directories. Their ranking page is inside their digital marketing section and is titled for the Lagos and Nigeria wording together. A Lagos design and marketing agency that works inside and outside Africa.

5. Awele SEO

Page one for two of the six. One of the few on this list that is SEO-only rather than a general digital agency, and one of the few publishing its own pricing, which puts a real number in front of buyers instead of a contact form. Aimed at small and medium businesses in Nigeria and abroad.

6. Nive Digital

Page one for two of the six, both of them Lagos searches. Describes itself as an SEO and digital marketing company in Lagos focused on organic search traffic and revenue, and publishes a phone number and email on the homepage, which is a small thing that a surprising number of agencies skip.

7. TAGET Media

Page one for two of the six Lagos searches. Frames its offer around ranking higher for traffic, leads and sales rather than around deliverables, and its ranking page is a dedicated SEO page rather than a general services page.

8. SEO Consulting NG

Page one for two of the six, appearing for "best seo company in nigeria" and "seo expert in nigeria". An exact-match domain, which still carries some weight for a category search like this one.

9. RanknGrow

Page one for two of the six, on the domain seocompanyinlagos.com. The clearest example on this list of what an exact-match domain plus a page titled for the search still achieves in this market: it outranks most of the established agencies for the terms it is built around.

10. Socialander

Page one for one of the six, and listed at the top of Clutch's Lagos SEO firms page alongside Wild Fusion. The combination of an organic page-one position and a leading directory placement is rarer than you would think, since most agencies manage one or the other.

Worth Knowing, Though They Did Not Make the Ten

• Wild Fusion is listed first on both Clutch's Lagos and Clutch's Nigeria SEO pages, which makes it the most prominent Nigerian agency by directory standing. It did not reach page one organically for any of our six searches.
• SEYTECH NG was named in Google's AI Overview for "seo services in lagos" with a 5.0 out of 5 rating from 21 reviews on 4 October 2026, which is the highest rating we recorded, on a smaller review base.
• GO-Globe and V3design both reached page one for "seo agency in lagos". V3design did it with a blog post rather than a service page, which is a reminder that a well-aimed article can outrank an agency's own homepage.

Where We Sit, Honestly

We are Website Developer Tech, a web design and development agency in Ikeja, Lagos, and we publish this list, so you are entitled to ask where we come in our own test.

We did not appear on page one for any of the six searches. As of 4 October 2026 we are not in the top 50 for "seo agency in nigeria". We would be failing our own criterion if we placed ourselves in the ten above, so we have not.

What we can show is the other side of the same test. We have simply never pointed that work at the SEO-agency searches, which is a choice we are now correcting in public.

For client results rather than our own: we rebuilt the website for IMT Computers, an FOA-accredited IT training institute in Ikeja. In the two months after launch, 18 July to 17 September 2026, their own Google Search Console recorded 928 clicks and 27,900 impressions at an average position of 7.1. They reached number one for "FOA certification in Lagos", were named in Google's AI Overview for it, and took 46 student registrations in the first 10 days. How to Choose Between Them

1. Run the test yourself. Search the thing you want to rank for and see whether the agency appears. If they sell SEO in Lagos and cannot rank for SEO in Lagos, ask why, and listen to the answer. There are good answers.
2. Ask for one client result in Search Console. Dated, with the client's name, or a live site you can search for yourself. A rankings-tool screenshot is not the same thing.

4. Check who implements the fixes. Agencies that only report leave the implementation, and its cost, with your developer.
5. Treat any guaranteed position as a warning. Google decides. The work can be guaranteed; the outcome cannot.

By running six Nigerian SEO searches on Google on 4 October 2026, recording every domain on page one, removing directories, classifieds, forums and job boards, and ranking what remained by how many of the six searches each agency reached page one for. Why are Clutch and GoodFirms not in this list?

They are directories, not agencies. They rank well for these searches and they are a reasonable place to read reviews, but a profile on a directory is not evidence that an agency can rank a website.

Is an SEO agency or a freelance SEO expert better in Nigeria?

It depends on the work, not the label. A capable freelancer can outperform a weak agency, and costs less. An agency is usually the better choice when the work spans technical fixes, content and development at the same time, because that needs more than one skill set. Ask who will actually do the work either way.
