How Much Does a Website Cost in Nigeria? (2026 Pricing Guide)
What a website costs in Nigeria in 2026: typical price ranges by website type, what changes the price, hidden costs, and what you should get for your money.

Quick answer: In Nigeria, a professionally built business website usually costs from about ₦250,000, an online store from about ₦400,000, and custom web applications from around ₦1,000,000 upwards, depending on features. Much cheaper quotes exist, but they usually leave out SEO, security, an admin dashboard or support after launch. Our own prices are published on our pricing page: business websites from ₦250,000 and ecommerce stores from ₦400,000.
Why Website Prices in Nigeria Vary So Much
Ask five developers for a quote and you can get five answers between ₦50,000 and several million naira. The difference is rarely the design. It is what is included, and what is left out:
- Number and depth of pages. A five-page business site is a different job from a thirty-page corporate site.
- Selling online. A cart, checkout, product variations and payment gateway roughly double the work.
- Custom features. Bookings, portals, result checkers and integrations are scoped separately.
- SEO. Planning pages around real searches takes time. Skipping it is the most common way to cut a price.
- An admin dashboard. Some developers charge extra for it or leave you without one.
- Support after launch. Updates, fixes and SEO work after the site goes live.
Typical Website Prices in Nigeria (2026)
These are typical ranges for professionally built websites. Individual quotes vary with scope, so treat them as a guide rather than a price list.
| Website type | Typical range | What usually drives the price |
|---|---|---|
| Landing page or one-page site | ₦100,000 to ₦250,000 | Design, copy, one contact route |
| Business website (5 to 10 pages) | ₦250,000 to ₦700,000 | Pages, SEO, dashboard, integrations like WhatsApp and Maps |
| Corporate website | ₦500,000 to ₦1,500,000 | Departments, staff profiles, documents, review rounds |
| Ecommerce store | ₦400,000 to ₦2,500,000+ | Number of products, payment gateways, delivery options |
| School website or portal | ₦250,000 to ₦2,000,000 | Result checker, admissions, logins, fee payment |
| Custom web application | ₦1,000,000+ | Screens, user roles, integrations, data migration |
What a Professional Website Should Include
Whatever you pay, check that the quote includes the things that make a website work, not just look finished:
- Mobile-first design tested on real phones
- Fast loading on mobile data
- HTTPS (an SSL certificate)
- Contact form, WhatsApp button and Google Maps
- SEO basics: unique page titles and descriptions, clean URLs, a sitemap and structured data
- Google Search Console and Analytics set up
- An admin dashboard so you can update content yourself
- A plan for what happens after launch
Cheap Websites That End Up Costing More
A ₦50,000 website is not always a bad deal, but it usually saves money in one of these places:
| What gets cut | What it costs you later |
|---|---|
| SEO planning | A site nobody finds, and pages rebuilt later to fix it |
| Admin dashboard | A fee every time you change a price or phone number |
| Speed and mobile testing | Visitors leaving before the page loads |
| Security and backups | A hacked or lost site with no way back |
| Domain in your name | A website you do not fully own |
Hidden Costs to Budget For
The build is not the only cost. Plan for these as well:
- Domain name, renewed yearly
- Hosting, renewed monthly or yearly
- Business email, if you want addresses on your own domain
- Premium plugins or licences on WordPress sites (see WordPress website cost in Nigeria)
- Maintenance: updates, backups and fixes (see website maintenance cost in Nigeria)
- Content and photos, if you need them written or taken for you
WordPress or Custom Development?
WordPress suits content-led websites with standard features and a team that will edit pages and posts. A custom build suits websites with logins, portals, bookings or workflows. The build price can be similar; the running costs and flexibility are not. Our guide to WordPress vs custom website development compares them in detail.
How to Keep the Cost Down Without Cutting Quality
- Decide what the website must achieve before asking for quotes.
- Prepare your text and photos early. Late content is the most common cause of delays.
- Start with the pages and features you need now, and add more later.
- Compare quotes on what is included, not just the total.
- Check live websites the developer has built before paying anything. Our hiring checklist covers what to ask.
